Samsara Family Collective is ready to soar to new heights in 2018 by kicking off the new year with their own showcase event at The Stache in Grand Rapids on Friday, January 12th. The concert will feature seven of the collective’s artists, including performances from G-Bread, Super Future, Sandose, Dreezstring, CHOFF, Hizen, and Kar Pow.
The Samsara Showcase will also feature never-before-seen stage production courtesy of ProLux Entertainment. The Michigan based company will also be providing lighting and visuals for the event in collaboration with Wompa Vision.
Last February, the collective’s first showcase attracted hundreds of attendees to the Pyramid Scheme in Grand Rapids. This time around, they plan on focusing their efforts towards enhancing the overall experience for the audience. When asked what to expect from their second showcase, one of the collective’s founders had this to say;
“Expect a live & interactive environment at this show; we know how tiring it can be to stare at DJ’s for 5 hours so we are making sure to piece this production together with the intent of keeping the audience on their toes.” – Nick Rowland (Super Future)
The Collective’s Roots
The collective’s foundation was conceived in the Summer of 2016, when co-founder Nick Rowland (Super Future) noticed a need for more unity within the Grand Rapids electronic music scene. “There were plenty of great DJ’s in town…but not a cohesive team of artists or producers working to build something great,” he said. With the help of the collective’s other co-founder Sukhman Siduh, the two recruited local producers G-Bread and Sandose to help shape the experimental style the collective is known for today. Fast forward nearly one year later, and the collective now boasts a total of nine artists: Super Future, G-Bread, Sandose, Dreezstring, CHOFF, Hizen, Slum Body Oshea Davaun, and Kar Pow.
Samsara Vol. 3
While their team continues to grow in terms of size, so does their talent; as evident by the collective’s latest release, ‘Samsara Vol. 3’. Featuring 11 original tracks, there’s something for every electronic music fan on this mixtape. From the ambient sounds heard in sandose’s song ‘Effervescence’ to the heavy bass fueling ‘Tesseracts’ by Super Future and uth. The mixtape truly expresses the diversity that the collective is all about.
